The Lord keeping the city/The Lord giving His
beloved sleep
The Lord building
the house
“Except the Lord build the house, they
labor in vain that build it…..” (Ps.127:1).
The house where we dwell is important in the sight of God. Every one of us, the children of God, needs a dwelling unit or roof of our own over our head. Many borrow money from banks or financial institutions to build houses. Some may not need any such loan to build houses because they have sufficient funds in their hands. Nevertheless, the children of God should acknowledge God in all their ways, especially in the matter of construction or buying of houses, whether by way of loan or otherwise. Even if you have sufficient money in your hands, you have to seek His help and guidance in building or purchasing a house for you. The Lord knows your need for a house. As you claim His promise in the above verse and seek His face, it is He Who either sends the right seller to your doorsteps or takes you to the right market.
Dear minister of God, you are straining every nerve to build a House of Worship or a church for a very long time. The malady that lies with you is that you trust either in donations or in your financial capacity for erecting this huge edifice. You have trusted in your limited labor and money power. You have relied completely on your ability to raise donations and on the financial capability of donors. Today as you read this message, you should shut yourself in your secret chamber of prayer and should confess that you have been unable to build this house because you have not trusted in the Lord thy God.
You need not run to any banker or financial institution for loan. You should now remember that it is the Lord Who prepares the heart of the banker concerned to give you the required loan; it is the Lord Who speaks to the hearts of His people to donate their money to you.
Do not limit the Almighty and Omnipotent God Who has all the power over the treasuries of this world to a few thousands of dollars which you expect as donations from the people of God, when God wants to give you in millions. Let us fix our eyes on God alone and not as the sources of His money.
“…..except the Lord keep the city, the watchmen waketh but in vain” (Ps.127:1).
It is the Lord Who keeps the city in which His people live. The city may be garrisoned by the nation’s powerful army who keep a vigil day in and day out. Even then, the people of God have to trust their God only for their protection and deliverance. It is the Lord Who delivers His people from “the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence” (Ps.91:3). Even if the terrorists strike a city in which His people live, it is the Lord Who delivers His chosen people “by strength of Hand” (Exo.13:3). The Devil has no authority over them.
The people of God should neither be afraid of the noisome pestilence “that walketh in darkness” (Ps.91:6). The various types pf pestilences like SARS, etc. are a result of the divine judgment upon the Babylonian kingdom and “upon the seat of the beast” (Antichrist) (Rev.16:10) or those who “have not the seal of God in their foreheads” (Rev.9:4) or those who have “the mark of the beast” (Rev.16:2). Let us bear in mind that these types of divine judgments are meant for those who are of the kingdom of darkness and not for those who are of the kingdom of light.
The Lord giving His beloved
sleep
“It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so He giveth His beloved sleep” (Ps.127:2).
In our daily life, we have to earn our livelihood by means of hard labor. It was the divine curse on the whole family of Adam that they eat the bread of sorrows. But, the through the eternal sacrifice of the second Adam (Jesus Christ), God took away His curse from those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior, once and for all. For them, it is no longer the bread of sorrows but the bread of joy because the Lord blesses the fruit of their labor. Even the poor saints in Christ Jesus eat the bread of joy, though in fact they may not eat delicious and sumptuous food.
Today, many of the people of God do not have proper sleep owing to ailments or bodily weaknesses. The people of God under the New Covenant have become “His beloved”. You are “his beloved”. Do not worry any longer about your sickness or the sickness of your loved one. If God has given you or your loved one sleep, you or your loved one will be freed from the sickness in due time but in a gradual and phased manner. Sleep is the best antidote to chronic diseases. Instead of divine healing, you should now claim His promise of sleep without taking any medicine or pain killer. The gifts of healing are many. There are no stereo-type ways on all occasions of divine healing. If you know the truth, the truth will set you free. As you lay in your sickbed or as you sit by the side of the sickbed of your loved one, as the case may be, you should remember this promise – “He giveth His beloved sleep”.
