Satan exposed by a former witch - Harry Potter’s books

PASTOR D.J. MEYER

(The following is the testimony of a former witch, exposing the Harry Potter’s books)

“I am writing this urgent message because I was once a witch. I lived by the stars as an astrologer and numerologist casting horoscopes and spells. I lived in the mysterious and shadowy realm of the occult. By means of spells and magic, I was able to invoke the powers of the "controlling unknown" and fly upon the night winds transcending the astral plane. Halloween was my favorite time of the year and I was intrigued and absorbed in the realm of Wiccan witchcraft. All of this was happening in the decade of the 1960's when witchcraft was just starting to come out of the broom closet.

It was during that decade of the 1960's, in the year 1966, that a woman named J.K. Rowling was born. This is the woman who has captivated the world in this year of 2000 with four books known as the "Harry Potter Series." These books are orientational and instructional manuals of witchcraft woven into the format of entertainment. These four books by J.K. Rowling teach witchcraft! I know this because I was once very much a part of that world. Witchcraft was very different in the 1960's. There were a lot fewer witches, and the craft was far more secretive. At the end of that spiritually troubled decade, I was miraculously saved by the power of Jesus Christ and His saving blood. I was also delivered from every evil spirit that lived in me and was set free. However, as I began to attend fundamental Christian churches, I realized that even there witchcraft had left its mark. Pagan holidays and sabats were celebrated as "Christian holidays."

As time went on, I watched the so-called "Christian" churches compromising and unifying. I also watched with amazement as teachings from Eastern religions and "New Age" doctrine began to captivate congregations. It was a satanic set-up, and I saw it coming. Illuministic conspirators were bringing forth a one-world religion with a cleverly concealed element of occultism interwoven in its teachings. In order to succeed in bringing witchcraft to the world and thus complete satanic control, an entire generation would have to be induced and taught to think like witches, talk like witches, dress like witches, and act like witches. The occult songs of the 1960's launched the Luciferian project of capturing the minds of an entire generation. In the song "Sound Of Silence" by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, we were told of seeds that were left while an entire generation was sleeping, and that the "vision that was planted in my brain still remains."

Now it is the year 2000. All of the foundations for occultism and witchcraft are in place. The Illuminists have to move quickly, because time is running out. It was the Communist revolutionary Lenin who said, "Give me one generation of youth, and I will transform the entire world." Now an entire generation of youth has been given to a woman named J.K. Rowling and her four books on witchcraft, known as the Harry Potter Series. As a former witch, I can speak with authority when I say that I have examined the works of Rowling and that the Harry Potter books are training manuals for the occult. Untold millions of young people are being taught to think, speak, dress and act like witches by filling their heads with the contents of these books. Children are obsessed with the Harry Potter books that they have left television and video games to read these witchcraft manuals.

The first book of the series, entitled "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", finds the orphan, Harry Potter, embarking into a new realm when he is taken to "Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." At this occult school, Harry Potter learns how to obtain and use witchcraft equipment. Harry also learns a new vocabulary, including words such as "Azkaban", "Circe", "Draco", "Erised", "Hermes", and "Slytherin"; all of which are names of real devils or demons. These are not characters of fiction! How serious is this? By reading these materials, many millions of young people are learning how to work with demon spirits. They are getting to know them by name. Vast numbers of children professing to be Christians are also filling their hearts and minds, while willingly ignorant parents look the other way. The titles of the books should be warning enough to make us realize how satanic and antichrist these books are. The aforementioned title of the first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", was a real give away.

The second book was called "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", while the third book was entitled "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." Nothing could be more obvious than that Harry Potter books are pure witchcraft and of the devil. This is the oldest con game ever hatched out of hell. As a real witch, I learned about the two sides of "the force." When real witches have sabats and esbats and meet as a coven, they greet each other by saying "Blessed be", and when they part, they say "The Force be with you." Both sides of this "Force" are Satan. It is not a good side of the force that overcomes the bad side of the force, but rather it's the blood of Jesus Christ that destroys both supposed sides of the satanic "Force."

High level witches believe that there are seven satanic princes and that the seventh, which is assigned to Christians, has no name. In coven meetings, he is called "the nameless one." In the Harry Potter books, there is a character called "Voldemort." The pronunciation guide says of this being "He who must not be named." On July 8 at midnight, bookstores everywhere were stormed by millions of children to obtain the latest and fourth book of the series known as "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." These books were taken into homes everywhere with a real evil spirit following each copy to curse those homes. July 8th was also the 18th day (three sixes in numerology 666) from the witches' sabat of midsummer. July 8th was also the 13th day from the signing of the United Religions Charter in San Francisco. Now we have learned that the public school system is planning to use the magic of Harry Potter in the classrooms making the public schools centers of witchcraft training.

What does God have to say about such books as the Harry Potter series? In the Bible in the book of Acts, we read the following in the 19th chapter, verses 18 - 20: "And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed." As parents, we will answer to God if we allow our children to read witchcraft books. The Word of God will prevail mightily in your life only if such things of Satan are destroyed”.

What are kids saying about Harry Potter?

Here are some samples:

"I want to go to wizard school and learn magic. I'd like to learn to use a wand to cast spells." Dylan, age 10.

"If I could go to wizard school, I might be able to do spells and potions and fly a broomstick." Mara, age 12.

"It would be great to be a wizard because you could control situations and things like teachers." Jeffrey, age 11.

"I'd like to go to wizard school and learn magic and put spells on people. I'd make up an ugly spell and then it's pay-back time." Catherine, age 9.

"I feel like I'm inside Harry's world. If I went to wizard school I'd study everything: spells, counterspells, and defence against the dark arts." Carolyn, age 10.

"I liked it when the bad guys killed the unicorn and Voldemort drank its blood." Julie, age 13.

"The books are very clever. I couldn't put them down. When I was scared I made myself believe that it was supposed to be funny so I wasn't so scared." Nuray age 11.

These are the comments of young readers of the Harry Potter wizard books quoted on a new video by Jeremiah Films. On the video, called Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged, Making Evil Look Innocent, author Robert S. McGee explains: "Children as young as kindergarten are being introduced to human sacrifice, the sucking of blood from dead animals, and possession by spirit beings."

Courts have banned the teaching of Christianity in public schools but Wicca, which is recognized by the U.S. courts as a religion and given tax-exempt status by the IRS, is taught freely. Harry Potter has become the method of introduction of Wicca to the very young.

Harry Potter materials have become much more than a hand full of children's fantasy books. Warner Brothers, Coca Cola, Minutemaid, and Mattel have used the Potter materials to launch games, puzzles, toys, backpacks, and every possible merchandizing product.

Scholastic, Inc., a major supplier of public school teaching aids has added the Potter literature to its line of curriculum materials. When the name "Harry Potter" is keyed into the Scholastic.com web site search engine, it returns 268 matches. "Jesus" returned only 23.

And now, a major movie is about to break on the scene called "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Millions of dollars are being spent on pre-release hype.

Once introduced to the world of wizards, spells, and dark arts, readers of Harry Potter can advance their knowledge and skills in witchcraft and paganism by visiting the hundreds of web sites available on the internet.

Or, they can purchase more books on the subject from the well stocked Wiccan sections in local book super stores. Or, they can find over a thousand volumes on witchcraft available at Amazon.com.

Harry Potter books have taken the world of children's fantasy literature by storm. Over 200 million have been sold in 40 languages. One study shows that over half of the children in the western world have read at least one of the Potter books. Many reported rereading each book several times.

But is it just fantasy literature like Snow White and Cinderella? In the Harry Potter video, cult expert Caryl Matrisciana points out that in the older stories, evil never prevails.

There are no absolutes in his world. What is right depends on the situation.

Witchcraft now has a complete package. Starting in kindergarten with Harry Potter and TV witch shows, children are led on to the horror movies and hundreds of Wicca and pagan web sites. When they thirst for more power, high school and college Wicca covens are available. In the adult world, corporations are hiring New Age practitioners to provide seminars in sensitivity training, stress relief, and self improvement for employees.

Former Satanist William Schnoebelen points out in his book, Wicca, Satan's Little White Lie, that, "I finally learned in the most graphic fashion imaginable that the difference between witchcraft or Wicca and Satanism is actually non-existent."

Before he was saved he found himself cruising the streets looking for a lone female to assault, not for sex, but to drink her blood.

The bottom line is a hunger for power. Harry Potter and the rest of witchcraft promises that power. But in the end they discover that Satan is really in charge of the power and only uses it like cheese in a mouse trap.

Harry Potter provides a basic initiation into witchcraft for a whole new generation. Imagine what the world will be like when they grow up.

Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged Making Evil Look Innocent

Millions of American schoolchildren have a new subject in school: witchcraft!

Through the Harry Potter series, the ancient occult religion of Wicca is being introduced in almost every public school in America. This video explains how Scholastic Inc., the largest publisher of children's books in the world, is supplying Harry Potter materials to millions of schoolchildren. Scholastic Inc. is using its unrivaled position in the educational system to flood classrooms and libraries with witchcraft, repackaged as "children's fantasy literature." Teachers are encouraged to read the Harry Potter books aloud in class, and millions of children are being densensitized to the dangers of the occult spirit world.

Through Harry's world of sorcery they are learning what tools today's witches and pagans use -- supernatural imagination, spiritual concentration, wands, brooms, spells and curses. Warner Brothers new film based on Harry Potter has been called an accurate portrayal of witchcraft. And indeed it is.

In this video, you will see how completely occult is the world of Harry Potter. After reading the Harry Potter books, millions of children will demand to see Warner Bros. new movie, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

Christian parents have faced a similar problem for years with the teaching of evolution in their public schools. They have responded by teaching their children that they cannot believe everything they are taught in school. Now, with the Harry Potter books on witchcraft becoming part of public school curriculum, parents need to know enough about it to also teach their children that the spell-casting and other activities of Harry Potter are also forbidden territory. This video will help.

Harry's books are about a young 11-year-old generational wizard, Harry Potter, who attends the prestigious 1000-year-old occult boarding school, Hogwart's School of witchcraft and Wizardry. All his teachers are practicing occultists, and tutor their students in the dark arts of sorcery and divination: fortune telling, astrology, potion mixing, spell weaving and curse casting. Harry's world says that drinking dead animal blood gives power, a satanic human sacrifice and Harry's powerful blood brings new life, demon possession is not spiritually dangerous, and that passing through fire, contacting the dead, and conversing with ghosts, others in the spirit world, and more, is normal and acceptable.

The uppermost places in the synagogues

By Job Anbalagan

“Woe unto you, Pharisees! For ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the market” (Luke 11:43).

The above warning of Jesus to the Pharisees is very much relevant today.  The uppermost seats in the synagogues are like the prominent positions being held by the New Testament ministers in the Vineyard of God.  It may be a pastoral or an evangelistic ministry. There is nothing wrong with ministers holding prominent places in the Vineyard of God because it is God Who has appointed them to such positions.  But they should not “love” the uppermost seats.

These days, we find people who claim to serve God vie with one another in a church or in an evangelical organization to occupy prominent places. The elder evangelist who has established the evangelical organization always wants to be at its top and browbeats or brushes aside his junior colleagues.  Even if he becomes old, he does not want to give up his position because he loves the uppermost seat. Moses, when he grew old, chose Joshua in his place.  Elijah, when he was about to leave the world, chose Elisha in his place.

The New Testament ministry is a body ministry or a team ministry, which consists of many ministers, each performing his individual role as assigned by the Holy Spirit. All the team members are equally precious in the sight of God.  None is either superior or inferior to each other. Under the New Testament, every one who is saved through the Blood of Jesus Christ is a priest in the Temple because “the veil of the Temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom” (Matt.27: 51). Every one, now a priest in the Temple, has entered the Most Holy Place in the Temple to serve God because the veil of the Temple was rent in twain the moment Jesus died on the Cross.  He/she is not only a believer but also a minister of God. Nowadays, majority of the Christians are treated as believers and are taught as such.  The ministers who treat them as such thus love the uppermost seats in the synagogues because they do not want the so-called “laity” to occupy the position of “clergy”.

Secondly, they love “greetings in the markets”.  They would covet praises of men or publicity for their ministries when God  performs miracles through their hands.  They want themselves to be praised and greeted by men.  They want their names to be prominently advertised. In the words of Jesus, all these ministers are Pharisees.

They saw no man, save Jesus only!

By Job Anbalagan

On the Mount of Transfiguration, Peter, James and John, the close disciples of Jesus saw the wonderful scene of transfiguration of Jesus before their eyes.  There Moses and Elias also appeared.  Peter desired to make three tabernacles, one for Jesus, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. Then a bright cloud overshadowed them and a voice of the cloud said, “This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him”. On seeing the supernatural manifestation, the disciples fell on their face and were sore afraid. When Jesus came and touched them, and said, “Arise, and be not afraid”.  And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. (Matt.17:1-8). At the end, they saw only Jesus Who remains for ever.

Moses represented the law and Elijah the power of God through prophecy. Though both of them appeared, the Person of Jesus with His face shining and with His raiment appearing white as the light was outstanding.

At times, we lay undue emphasis on certain dos and don’ts of the Bible likened to the Ten Commandments quoting from the Word of God but fail to perceive the marvelous and unique Personality of Jesus.  The result is that we see people being saved wonderfully through the Blood of Jesus Christ but, in due course of time, these people would become stiff-necked like the children of Israel. We preach about the salvation through the Blood of Jesus Christ but hardly do we present His entire Personality to the unsaved people. When I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the book “The Voice of My Beloved” over a period of 15 years, the blessed Holy Spirit opened my eyes to the marvelous Person of Jesus Christ and His Body, the Church, through the Song of Songs.

At times, we are very zealous of serving the living God so as to bring down the fire of God on the works of the Devil as Elijah did on the Mount of Carmel.  I have seen some of our Television ministers filled with the power of God display His healing power on their evangelical stages.  But they fail to focus on the wonderful Personality of Jesus and His glorified Body, the universal Church, through their ministries. They lay emphasis on His miracles but do not present His marvelous Personality and His glorified Body.

No doubt, we need the sound doctrines of the Word and the power of God.  But, above all, we need to grow in our fellowship with Christ and His glorified Body. Peter, John and Peter saw the glorified Body of Christ even before His ascension into the Heaven and His subsequent glorification. Why cannot we see through our prophetic eyes the marvelous Body of Christ today?

Christ sans His Body is incomplete.  Nevertheless, Christ with His Body is complete.  These days, we worship and adore Christ in our churches but do not recognize His multi-member Body all over the world. We do have fellowship with the members of our local churches but do not strive towards the gathering of the scattered members of His Body in His one Body. At times, we despise or look down upon the members of His glorified Body in other churches or in other nations. Neither do we help the poor saints who are of His Body nor do we strengthen the weak sheep that are of His Body.   Does our nationalism, our culture, our race, or our church doctrine blind our eyes, thereby preventing us from beholding the glorified Body of Christ all over the world?

We cannot equate the wonderful Person of Christ Jesus with Moses and Elijah.  We cannot have three tabernacles.

“This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased, hear ye Him”.  Do you hear Him daily as you personally meditate on the Word of God and pray?  Do ye hear Him through His Body, the universal Church? No doubt, you may be hearing Him, partly through your local church or through your fellowship.  This is not enough. You should also hear Him through His apostles and prophets, who are the foundation of the Church?

Today, the Holy Spirit is giving you a revelation of the glorified Body of Christ on the Mount of transfiguration.  Let us behold His Body and hear Him.

Instead of confessing, “The salvation of Christ is mine; the healing of Christ is mine…” let us confess, “My Beloved is mine and I am His” (Song of Songs 2:16).

Four types of sowings

Job Anbalagan

Seeds falling by the way-side

Let us meditate on Mat. 13:4-23. While sowing, the sower threw some seeds by the way-side, and the fowls came and devoured them up.  The evangelists sow the seeds of gospel. The wicked one, Satan, caught and devoured those seeds that lay by the way-side. Who is at fault here?  Is it the sower or the hearer of the gospel?  The key word is “understandeth not”.

The evangelist should preach the gospel in a manner which is easily understood by the hearer.  In country which is inhabited predominantly by Muslims or Hindus, the evangelist should speak to them, according to their level of understanding.  He should not attack their religions or their manner of worship and customs.

Let us read Acts 14:15-39 to know how Paul preached the gospel to the idol worshippers in Athens. Paul went to Athens and “his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry”. Though Paul was pained in his heart at the idolatry of the people there, he did not condemn their idolatry but proclaimed a message to them that appealed to their hearts.  In the beginning, he appreciated their “devotions” – religious customs and faith.  He did not straightaway ask them to repent of their sins, forsake their idols and accept Jesus as their Savior.  Only at the end, he spoke about the divine judgment and assurance of salvation through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

The evangelist should study the religious customs and practices of the people to whom he has to present Jesus Christ.

Paul began the message with the word, “Unknown God” and ended it with the word “He (God) hath raised Him (Jesus) from the dead”.  These days, many evangelists quote from the Old Testament books which illiterate people steeped in their own religious practices find it difficult to understand.  They condemn their religious practices. They also give very long messages, quoting many scriptures from the Bible.  When the hearer finds it difficult “to understand”, the Devil comes there as a thief and takes away the seed sown in his heart.

Falling upon stony place

The sower sowed seeds upon the stony place “where they had not much earth”. Since the germination of the seed could not take place due to want of much earth, it was scorched under the sun.  Here, the hearer hears and receives the gospel “anon with joy”.  Who is to blame here?  Is it the sower or the one who receives it with joy?

He who received the word did not have “root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended”.

A wise sower before sowing prepares the ground by ploughing it.  The evangelist has to prepare the hearts of the people by way of tearful prayers of intercession. He has to be led by the Spirit to those places which are ripe for the harvest of the gospel.  Prayer is very important for the evangelist.

Seeds falling among thorns

He who has received seed among the thorns is he that hears the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

The third type of sowing is different from the first two types. Here, the evangelist sows the seeds among the thorns.  Here the place where the seed is sown does not matter.  The seed sown has to germinate and grow in the midst of these thorns. Let the thorns be there. The rose blossoms in the midst of its thorns. Thorns are part of the rose plant. However, here, the thorns should not be allowed to outgrow and stifle the little plant. The message being given should be true to the gospel.  It should not give a false promise of material prosperity. Jesus exhorted His disciples to deny themselves, take up their crosses and follow Him. When the evangelist preaches a message of material prosperity, denouncing poverty as a curse of God, the hearer, when faced with the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, is tempted to covet only the material prosperity of this world. He would not like to endure afflictions.  Suffering for the sake of Christ is part of Christian life. Every one would face the care of this world. Facing it in our Christian life is inevitable. But, we should not be cowed down by it. We should overcome it through Christ. The evil consequences of deceitfulness of riches should be inculcated in the mind of the hearer. On the contrary, the preacher promises material prosperity to the hearer in return to the latter’s financial support or the so-called “seeds of faith”. The hearer thus becomes a prey to the deceitfulness of riches.

The evangelist should continue to minister to the people who heard his message so that the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches do not choke the words planted in their hearts.  He should not forsake them after giving them the initial message of salvation. Paul, while directing Timothy to do the work of an evangelist, exhorted him to preach the word in all seasons; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.  He laid emphasis on “sound doctrine”.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables…” (II Tim.4:2-5).

Today we find in our midst teachers who dilute the gospel of Christ by laying over-emphasis on material prosperity.  Recently, a dear sister informed me that God has not yet blessed her financially despite her sowing financial seeds by way of tithes, offerings, etc. I then sent her a message on the poor widow’s mite.  The poor widow under the watchful eyes of Jesus put everything she had into the offertory box. Though she was under the Old Testament, and was not under grace, she gave all she had to God without expecting anything in return from God.  She put all her coins and went away.  Here is a poor widow who put in what she had with her.  She had no more savings to fend for herself, having dropped her two mites into the treasury. Her name is not mentioned here.  The Bible calls her “a certain poor widow”.

Let us note that this poor widow lived under the old dispensation of the Law of Moses. Christ had not yet died for her.  The Holy Spirit was not given to her at that time.  But still she loved the God under the old Covenant. Nor did she have the wonderful promises of reward or blessings in return for her two mites.  She did not have any expectation of reward for her sacrificial offering.  She left the place after dropping her two mites.  We do not know where she had gone or how she lived the rest of her life.

What a surprise! A poor widow comes near the treasury and drops all her coins and then disappears and that too, without being watched by the priests of the temple! These days, when we give a few dollars to some servant of God, we go about telling the whole world.

There are some preachers who justify divorces, abortion, occasional consumption of liquor, gambling, etc. These preachers quote only the Word of God. People, having itching ears, flock to these preachers.

The evangelist has to take further care of the people whom he has preached the gospel so that the thorns of care of this world and of the deceitfulness of riches do not choke the word planted in their hearts. He should warn against the care of this world and the deceitfulness of the riches.

Seeds falling into good ground

The fourth type of sowing is the right one. The key word is “the good ground”.  The evangelist should plough the land, and sow the seed of the true gospel. He should preach the gospel in a manner to be easily understood by the hearer.

Prayers of a Pharisee and a Publican

In Luke 18:9-14, Jesus told a parable concerning those who considered themselves “righteous” and despised others.  Nowadays, there are many in our midst who fall under this category.

Two mean went to pay in the Temple.  One was a Pharisee and the other a publican.  Pharisees were religious leaders for following the Jewish religious rites and customs in letter whereas publicans are common people known for performing the odd job of tax collection and of keeping inns. The Pharisee prayed, “God, I thank thee,  that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican….I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess…”

PRAYER OF A PHARISEE

Many people of God, after becoming the children of God through the Blood of Jesus Christ, attend the worship services regularly,   pray and fast, and pay tithes to their churches. Nevertheless, they compare themselves with those “nominal” Christians who have not experienced salvation through Christ Jesus.  At times, they boast that they are not like these unconverted Christians. .  Have you ever said, “I am not like that person”?  The moment you start comparing yourself with another person, you allow the spirit of pride to enter your.

They glory in their salvation experience or in the experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Their salvation experience or the experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost has not humbled them before God but has exalted them. A person who has been baptized in the Holy Spirit really becomes very humble and not arrogant. Today, there are many Christians who are deceived because they have received the spirit of error and not the spirit of truth (I John 4:6).

Some time back, I came across a woman from USA who claimed herself as the wife of a pastor.  She further described her as the wife of the servant of the Most High and, on seeing the Bible verse on our Home Page regarding Paul’s command to glory in the Cross of Jesus Christ, she argued that she did not want to glory in the “wooden” cross of Jesus Christ or the crucifix which the Roman Catholics believed. She was “righteous” as the Pharisee and despised others who had carried the “wooden” crosses, whereas she herself did not know the significance of the Cross of Jesus Christ.  I explained to her the significance of the spiritual Cross of Jesus Christ.

Like the Pharisee, many of us tell others that we fast and pray and that we give to God. Let our fasting and giving be secret.

PRAYER OF A PUBLICAN

What about the publican?  He stood “afar off” and “would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner”.

A saved soul or a born-again Christian has to confess his/her sins to God so that he/she continues to be washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ. There may be secret sins or unnoticed sins in our lives which need to be confessed and washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ. John writes in I John 1:8-10, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us…If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us”.  Let us note that the Holy Spirit has to cleanse us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.  God must have forgiven all our sins at the time of our initial salvation experiences. But, we have committed or continue to commit many acts of unrighteousness. Can you say that you have not committed acts of unrighteousness?

A child of God has to seek purging of his/her conscience from dead works through the Blood of Jesus Christ (Heb.9:14).  Dead works are those practices and customs deeply rooted in our consciences which militate against the New Testament doctrine of grace.  The Blood of Jesus Christ continues to free us from these dead works.  Many churches gravitate the children of God to the dead works by preaching certain commandments.  They advocate a life to be lived by following certain commandments, and not a life to be lived dependent on the Holy Spirit. One denominational church advocates worshipping God on the Sabbath. Another denominational church stresses on the doctrines of salvation, water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism.  I do not say that all these doctrines are not biblical.  But, I stress here that the churches should not be built on such doctrines but on the foundation of apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ being the Chief Corner Stone.  People saved from heathen religions do follow some practices of their former religions because such practices have got rooted deeply in their consciences. Catholic churches still follow the dead works.  The children of God should be taught the significance of the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Apostle Peter sought “sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the Blood of Jesus Christ” on the elect in Pontus, Galatia, etc. (I Peter 1:1). The Holy Spirit sanctifies the people of God through the Blood of Jesus Christ.

As we daily meditate on the love of Christ manifested through the Cross of Calvary for us, we continue to be sanctified through the Blood of Jesus Christ and thus get the grace of God in abundance. LET US REMEMBER THAT THE GRACE OF GOD IS AVAILABLE TO US ONLY THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, AND NOT THROUGH OUR DEEDS.  If we come to the Cross of Calvary daily, we cannot boast of our own righteousness or of our salvation or any spiritual experiences. And we will cry unto God like the publican, and say, “God be merciful to me a sinner”.
